Jack Garratt

Jack Garratt: Managing Director

Jack Garratt is the Managing Director and is responsible for the commercial strategy of the business. Formerly part of our remedial surveying team, he’s a specialist in basement tanking and holds full PCA certification for structural waterproofing ( C.S.S.W ) and is a Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatment ( C.S.R.T ) in timber and damp. Jack began his career as a technician over 19 years ago and is now a consultant remedial surveyor, giving him great practical knowledge and shaping him into the leader that he is today.

Gillian

Gillian Garratt: Director

Aside from holding over 30 years of experience in the damp proofing trade, Gill is also the founding member of Garratt’s Damp & Timber. Gill is our most experienced damp proofing expert – she covers everything from woodworm to rising damp, specialising in insects and wood rot. Usually found surveying a property somewhere in London, Gill is always on hand to provide expert advice and solve complex problems for our customers.

Wayne Barber

Wayne Barber: Pre-Works Manager

When it comes to works, Wayne is the person to call. As our works manager, it is Wayne’s responsibility to ensure that each and every job goes according to plan and sticks to the schedule. Wayne started out as a member of our works team and has grown and progressed with Garratt's Damp over the last 12 years. Once we discovered his skills in organisation, problem-solving and client relations, it was clear to see that Wayne was the perfect candidate to manage our busy work team department.

Tom

Tom Garratt (CSTDB): Operation Director

As a director in the business, Tom’s role is to manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring our teams are driven and producing high-quality work. Tom gained 17 years of experience as well as NVQ qualifications 1 and 2 in plastering and worked on various types of jobs, from general DPC (damp proofing course) to waterproofing and membrane basement tanking. Tom is also a qualified surveyor holding the PCA qualification CSTDB.

Ginette Roberts

Ginette Roberts

The team’s ‘mother hen’, Ginette, has been our office manager for over nine years. Ginette manages all aspects of the office, from accounts to customer enquiries - guaranteeing an office that is always running smoothly. She is a consistently calm and collected member of the team, acting as a positive influence on her colleagues and customers alike. In a crisis, Ginette is the best person to call – if something can’t be found, this lady can always locate it!

Ellie Garratt

Ellie Garratt

A vital part of our office administration team, Ellie has been a member of our team for over seven years. She is a thorough and efficient worker – our clients often comment on the speedy turnaround of her reports! Ellie is a determined and motivated individual who always ensures an accurate yet fast-paced service.

Ian

Ian Suckling (CSTDB)

Ian is one of our remedial surveyors, certified in damp, timber and health and safety (CSTDB), also specialising in thermal imaging. He is a great asset to the Garratt's team, providing lots of knowledge and a smiley face along with brilliant customer service for over 10 years.

Louiely Ferry

Louiely Ferry

Louiely has over 10 years of accounting experience and has overseen the accounting side and payroll since starting in March 2021. Louiely has adapted extremely well to the ways of GDT and is an asset to the team. She is the go-to person when you have finance-related questions.

Jayme Wild

Jayme Wild

Jayme plays an essential part in the smooth running of the office administration.  She ensures all aspects of the day-to-day office run efficiently and smoothly - from the booking of surveys to the booking of works, the first port of call to solve a problem, and is a part-time office dog whisperer.

The Works Team

Our team of workers is made up of 16 damp proofing experts, consisting of eight experienced plasterers and eight labourers. All are working full-time for Garratt’s Damp; each of our workers is diligent and dedicated, putting in plenty of hard work on-site to ensure every property is left clean, tidy, and expertly damp-proofed.

Our technicians work in teams of two and are always communicative and conscientious, carrying out every aspect of their work to the high quality our customers know and expect.

We know that damp and timber issues can cause a lot of stress, which is why our works team only use high-quality products and innovative technology to deliver a long-lasting solution with minimal disruption.
